After a long long time, the batch of 1981 got together at Cuttack on 8th March, 2009 at the Grand Central Hotel at Badambadi, Cuttack. Chandi Das, who is a Neurology Specialist at PG.I., Chandigarh and presently at Canberra, Australia and Jyoti Ratho, who is Vice-President of ICICI Bank at Mumbai had come down to attend the event. This get together was coordinated by Kanhayalal Sharma. Others who attended are Kamal Santuka, Vikram Senapati, Arvind Gupta, Bijay Tapuria, Kaushik Mohanty, Pankaj Kakkar, M.P.C. Deep, Pawan Kishen and Siddharta Mohanty.
It was decided to meet more often. The details of all the batchmates were decided to circulate amongst all, and hence Kanhayalal decided to create a blog and post all details on it. Others too can contribute whatever information they have about other mates. All ye are requested to send all your and our other friends info to Kanhayalal Sharma at maruvihag@rediffmai.com or maruvihag@gmail.com or post directly to this blog in comments or call 0671-2414670.
Please See the pictures of this get together. Next time make it, or see what you are missing.

I am happy to see the blog. I hope to see the blog grow strength to strength. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteGood to see all guys enjoying themselves!
ReplyDeleteCould not help but notice a smashing guy in a red T-shirt and holding a glass. How can things change! From a guy who filled up half his desk at school, now he can fill up the picture (with his belly alone); from cold drink to hard drink. Wow ! Guess this is prosperity and progress at its best. Keep it up fella.. carry on.
That fella is just holding Milk Shake - Rose Flavour. That is his Good Night drink. Therefore he sips it slowly.
ReplyDeleteThe colour of the liquid looks light yellow in the picture. If its a hard drink it could be champagne, if it was being served, otherwise leave it everybody's guess... (don't think that anybody in our class was particularly fond of Morarji Desai.)
ReplyDeleteI do agree that milk shake is an excellent good night drink....but maybe a long time ago upto class 3 probably. You are right, but people need to grow up also...
Hi
ReplyDeleteThis is Pragnya Das, an alumni of 1985 batch. I saw the blog and remember a few faces: I still remeber Vikram Senapati as the magician of the School, remember Debjyoti Das because he is the brother of my sister-in-law; Diptendu Bhattacharya's younger brother, Shubhedu was our batch mate (I remeber they had a sister, too in St. Joseph's convent). I am guessing Mr. Kamal santuka might be the older brother of our batchmate Sunil Santuka.
We, too had a reunion, but I could not attend it. I am in the US, scientist at Harvard Medical School.
Excellent Work by your Batch. Cheers !!!

Once again, I'm back. Now I remember Amit Roy. He was the flagbearer of the Young's House during the MarchPast parade on Sports day. Am I correct?
